WWE has a unique situation tonight where it is airing a pre-taped episode of SmackDown at the same time as filming another episode for next week.

An unexpected title change on WWE NXT nad reportedly caused significant backstage disruption, forcing the creative team to scramble in the moment and now re-work pre-taped creative that was filmed so that wrestlers could take some time off for the holiday.

WWE, despite its creative faults, catapulted a number of new stars to the top in 2025. That list includes the likes of Jade Cargill, Jey Uso, Naomi and Tiffany Stratton, who have all reached new heights as singles stars this year.

The WWE Tag Team Championship was on the line as The Wyatt Sicks defended against The MFTs. While the viewers expected a clean finish, the match saw no actual winner due to a disqualification. Damian Priest cut a promo, but his happiness was short-lived as Aleister Black attacked him backstage.
